I'm very happy with this scanner. I needed to scan 9x12 sheets of paper and was frustrated that there either were none that could handle that size or they costed hundreds of dollars. It scans very lightly drawn pencil drawings on the high grey setting and scans color very nicely also. Note: If you scan the same image over and over, one that is lightly drawn, it may eventually process the image too bright in which case all you have to do is scan something darker or more colorful and it should scan the lightly drawn image more clearly again. A minor problem as far as I'm concerned. I owned an hp scanner prior to this purchase and it had it's glitches also. Scanners have to calculate complex graphics and they have to deal with the bright white paper and different hues of paper, so they do a pretty good job overall.
